1950s UKIP – United Kingdom’s Isolationist-Indian Party?

The 1950/60s saw an influx of Indian migrants into Britain. Widespread racial tension and fear between Whites and Indians followed - cheers Enoch. Some Indians created all-Indian communities: geographically – Deepdale in Preston, professionally - Indian Workers Association, or intellectually - India League. Communal eating is a staple custom of Indian culture; newly emerging Indian-owned, Indian restaurants became community safe-havens (evident in the video). As you probably know, London’s India Club Restaurant (est. 1951) served traditional food, whilst fostering Indian-only communities including the Indian Socialist and Journalists Associations. The isolated safety of a ‘home away from home’ removed the need for cultural integration, creating informal racial segregation. Essentially, English pubs were ‘White only’, as Indian restaurants were ‘Brown only’.

Was this unwritten exclusion of the British, anti-White racism? If Indians feared the British, can you blame the British for fearing Indians? Does racism work both ways?
